Fireworks, sparklers and red, white and blue! It’s the perfect combination for a photographer trying to get a picture for the Fourth of July. Last year at this time I had the time to do a full July 4th themed photo session, complete with smiles and lollipops- you can take a peek at that red, white and blue photo session here. This year however, I was blessed with a new baby, number four to be more specific (see more of him here) which made it a little more difficult to break out the camera and take on a full session for this holiday. I was able to, however, capture a few red, white and blue smiles to celebrate the day.
Here are my two beauties getting ready to see the fireworks. Unfortunately for us, it is monsoon season here in Ahwatukee. Phoenix is generally almost always sunny and clear skies and it has been most of this year. However, the blowing dust last night whipped around so hard there were times we could not see the house across the street from us. Sadly, we were rained and dusted out of the Red, White and Boom celebration. There were no fireworks to be seen in the Ahwatukee skies. It was alright though as we created our own celebration inside. All decked out in their red, white and blue clothes, the kids opened the glow braclets and necklaces we bought earlier in the day just watched the beautiful Phoenix storm color the night sky from our front window. We will have to wait for next year to catch those fireworks!
