One of the things I love most about being a Phoenix photographer is the variety of locations families choose for their sessions. From desert sunsets to city streets, each backdrop tells a different story. Recently, I had the chance to photograph Dahlia’s graduation portraits in one of the most unique settings I’ve ever worked in — an aviation museum!
Here’s what Dahlia had to say about her experience:
“We did graduation pictures on location at an aviation museum which is a challenging environment as it was hot with no air conditioning. Emily was just a champ at capturing the vintage look we wanted. Emily also took professional photos as well which came out perfectly. She clearly loves being a photographer and takes pride in her work. Thank you Cozy Clicks and Emily for making it a fun experience! We’ll be telling all our friends about you!!!”

Making Challenging Locations Work
Every location has its quirks — in this case, heat and tricky lighting inside the museum. But with a little creativity (and a lot of patience), we were able to bring out the vintage vibe Dahlia wanted while still keeping the experience fun and stress-free.
That’s one of the reasons I love photographing in Arizona — there are endless opportunities to get creative and make your portraits feel completely unique to you.

Why Location Matters
From beautiful Phoenix parks and desert trails to offbeat places like aviation museums, the right location can truly tell your story. Graduation portraits don’t have to be the same cap-and-gown pictures you see everywhere else. With thoughtful planning, they can reflect your personality and become keepsakes that stand out.
