Tucked away in Ahwatukee, Desert Foothills Park is one of my absolute favorites for senior photos—especially when we’re looking for that perfect mix of nature and space without going too far from home.
Here’s what makes it great:
- Open desert trails with tall golden grass 🌾
- Mountain views and soft sunset skies 🌄
- Paved paths and green spaces if you want to mix it up
- Easy parking (because let’s be real—nobody wants to hike in wedges 😅)
For this session, we caught the golden hour glow just as the sun dipped behind the South Mountain ridgeline. It gave the whole shoot a dreamy, radiant feel—exactly what you want for capturing this unforgettable season of life.

- Outfit Options – 2–3 looks is ideal (think casual, something dressy, and something fun or sporty!)
- Comfy Shoes – Even if you’re wearing heels for photos, pack a pair of slides or sneakers for walking between spots
- Touch-Up Kit – Lip gloss, hairbrush, blotting papers, or anything you need for a quick fix
- Props or Personal Items – A favorite book, instrument, jersey, or letter jacket adds a fun personal touch
- Water + Snacks – Especially for summer sessions in Phoenix! Hydration is key 💦
