How long have you been a photographer and what was the main reason you started?
I started back in 2012. I have always loved all forms of art but photographing my kids got me into photography!
What (who) are your favorite types of subjects to shoot and why?
Children and pets… especially if they are together. There’s a magic that happens when you combine the two! It creates such emotion at the unhindered love and innocents.
Canon vs. Nikon (or other) which one are you? Any specific reason why?
I shoot Nikon. Not for any particular reason, other then its the first one I bought:)
What is your go to lens?
I LOVE my Nikon 85mm 1.4 lens

If you could only give 1 piece of advice to a new photographer out there, what would it be?
Don’t compare yourself to others. Just compare yourself to yourself! Watch as YOU learn and grow! It will drag you down if you compare yourself to others. What’s the cliche saying? Rome didn’t get built in a day. That’s so true.
If I gave you $1000 right now (or maybe more) to spend on photography gear, what would you buy?
I have been eying the new iPad Pro! Also a new lens… the 58 1.4 Nikon. Its a toss up!
Do you have any secret tips for getting people to loosen up/smile during a shoot?
Well I mainly shoot kids, but I’m not afraid to make a fool of myself. I have all types of crazy noises I make during my sessions! I didn’t realize how many I do until I had it filmed for a video series.
Who is your inspiration?
My mentor was Kim Winey. She’s amazingly talented! I also am inspired by paintings.
If you could photograph any person (dead or alive) who would that be?
Oh gosh, I have never been asked this before LOL. Hmm… Maybe not a certain person but a era. Does that count? I’d love to go back in the 1800’s and do a farm shoot with kids.
