24 Hours Before

Send Out A Final Confirmation Email. You should have already have had plenty of opportunity to discuss details before this point, but one last reminder is always good practice. Make it short and sweet. Remind them of the time and location (You can include the address in there as well) If it’s a tricky place to find, give detailed directions- even if they’ve told you they can find it. Give them an opportunity to ask any last questions and let them know your excitement! If you haven’t already, include your cell phone number, so they can call you if they can?t find you.

*Please note that not all people will respond to the email. Some people choose not to, others simply don’t check their email daily or often and every once in awhile, your email might wind up in a spam box. So don’t automatically cancel if you don’t hear back!Know the exact sequence of steps you should take before your next photo session

12 Hours Before

Check Your Gear. Make sure your batteries are charged and you have enough memory cards packed. You may even want to turn the camera on and snap a couple pics. This ensures everything is working well, and if not, well then, you’ve given yourself enough time to fix it!

2-3 Hours Before

Check the road conditions of where your location is- especially if the location requires highway driving or is more than 30 minutes away. That way, if there is construction or an accident, you can plan accordingly.Cars parked for the Ahwatukee Concerts at Desert Foothills off Chandler Blvd.

1 Hour Before

Run through your checklist to make sure you have what you need. (Don’t have a checklist? Make sure you read 9 Things to Always take with you on every Photoshoot + grab the free checklist you can download right to your phone at the end of that article.) Double check the traffic.

20-30 minutes before

YOU arrive at the location. You should be there way ahead of time to scope out the area and make sure there is not an event, closure or other misfortune mishap at the location you’ve picked. Always make sure you are there before you clients to greet them.

15 minutes before

Text your client to let them know exactly where they can meet you. You can make note that you know it’s early so don’t rush and that you’ll see them soon.

10 Seconds Before

Watch for your clients as they arrive. Be there to greet them with a smile!

(And yes, that’s me above with my big greeting smile;) )

There you have it!

Have fun shooting!
