Session: Cake Smash/One Year Portraits

For this child photography session I was looking to capture one year old portraits of this super sweet and adorable one year old  gal.  If you keep scrolling, I think you’ll see that succeeded in capturing that cuteness.  To end this old year old portrait session, we were hoping to capture the ever popular cake smash photos that have become tradition on many one year old shoots.  However, this cake smash turned out a little differently then planned and it wasn’t this cutie pie who took the cake.  Want to see what I mean?  Scroll through this featured session to see how it end up!

Location

Right at the Northwest side of the Phoenix area is a smaller town called Glendale.  Hidden in the town is a beautiful park called Manistee Ranch.  The green orchard and old historic buildings create the feel of an enchanted garden.  It is truly a beautiful place for child, family or maternity photo sessions.  Want to see more photos from Manistee Ranch?  Check out another one year old session here.

Cake Smash Tips

If your child is one, a cake might be a fun option to include in their portraits, however, it may not always go exactly how you envision it.  While some kids will jump  at the chance to taste that sweet frosting.  Others are extremely hesitant and some even fearful.  That’s OK! Part of a great cake smash is capturing that true emotion that a one year old feels on this big day.  So as you see here, she wan’t into the cake so much- BUT there definitely was some one that was!  To see more cake smash sessions take a peek right here.
