Phoenix Area Family and Child Photography

The Session

This family photo session taken near Phoenix, Arizona was a family session to welcome the newest arrival to the family.  This session was not a traditional 3 month portrait session, which are often done in a studio.  For this session there were no props or setups, just the natural outdoor Phoenix landscapes.  This made it easy for the family pup to join right in for some photos too!  With most family sessions, if you’d like to get a few of just your child in some of the photos, I will do that too!

The Location

While many photo session locations are taken on location at many different spots around the Valley, this family opted to keep it very simple and shot right near their home.   This is sometimes the perfect location, especially if you have a young child or a pet that you’d like to include in your portraits.  Shooting in your neighborhood or backyard is definitely an option when scheduling  your photo session!  Please contact me and we can decide if a backyard photo shoot will work for you.

The Clothing

This family was perfectly coordinated.  They choose  three colors and tied them into everyone’s outfits.  Choosing 2-3 colors is a great way to start planning what you will wear for you family portraits.  Try to stay away from just choosing one color and having everyone in the same thing.  And the reverse, more than 3 colors and the combinations will appear too busy.  Notice here the reds, navys and a bit of tan weaved through the color scheme.  They had it down!
