Phoenix Family Photographer
Location
This beautiful and popular Phoenix location is right near the entrance of Tonto National Forest. Coon Bluff Campground is an awesome spot for photography. With many trees and walking paths, this location is circled by mountains. Coon Bluff also has access to Salt River, so if you are brave enough to get your feet wet, you could get some shots in the water too! Occasionally wild horses are known to wander through the area, so you may get lucky enough to see some horses the day of you session. This location does require a parking fee to enter the national forest. Lighting
This session was shot using natural light near the end of the day. An hour prior to sunset is an ideal time to shoot family portraits because the light will be the most flattering. Coon Bluff provides beautiful lighting conditions which make for flattering portraits. This spot also offers plenty of shade which is great during those hotter months. One of the reasons it is so popular!
Props
If you are interested in incorporating props into your photo session I definitely welcome it! For this family session, we added in a fun pretend tea party to end the evening. Complete with tepee, tea pots , and little chairs, these props added in a little fun to the night. Unsure what kind of props to bring? Just ask me, together we can decide if incorporating props into your session is a good fit for you. Sometimes just adding in a little extra something can add a lot of fun. To see some use with simpler props see here.
