Specific List of Resources To Tremendously Help You Succeed in Your Photography Business
Just starting a photography business or maybe you have one but it’s just feeling a little overwhelming and unorganized at the moment?
I wanna help. I get it. There are a lot of choices out there and a lot of companies and services out there and it can be confusing and frustrating which ones you really need or which ones are really good. There are a lot of services I tried out over the years that were OK or that I thought I NEEDED to have for my business (but really didn’t) or just simply weren’t good. I’m not going to list those ones here. I don’t want to waste your time.
So instead of just listing all the photography resources that are out there for you to choose from, I want to simply things for you. Let’s keep things specific and straight to the point.
Here is a very specific list of photography resources that will help your photography business feel more organized and less overwhelming. Almost all of them will let you either try them out for free- or have given me a discount coupon to give to you!
Every one of them I have used and found to be beneficial to the growth of my photography business. I hope these services will help you too! *Some of these links are affiliate links- which means that there is no extra charge to you at all- it actually will probably give you a pretty sweet deal! And it helps out the business I love and me too!
HoneyBook
This is the perfect starting point for your business. I love it because it is your all in one solution to so many pain points in business. Honeybook is a platform that will help you totally automate EVERYTHING (well almost…it won’t help you with your laundry;) )
Need digital contract templates & ways to send them? Covered.
Need a way to easily send invoices, retainer fees & collect payment digitally? Done.
Want to keep things organized and track client experiences ?HoneyBook has you covered.
And as you grow it’s going to help you so much more. You are going to be glad that you started your business off from the start with Honeybook.
And right now you can give it a try for free for 7 days, and if you think it’s for you, save 50% off your first year.
ShootProof
I think I may have been using ShootProof longer than any other online service for my business. Shoot Proof is an online gallery site that helps you share galleries, take orders and so much more. It’s easy for both you and your clients.
You can sign up for FREE (yay!) and even stay with them completely for free until your business grows!
Wix
Ok, you need a website. Maybe you have one already ( but it’s a free one with branding from the company, oh no!) Or maybe you?re just hoping that you can get by with only having a Facebook or Instagram page. Bottom line though, if you are serious about building your business, you need a site. And one that looks professional, like www.yourphotogname.com NOT www.yourphotogname.freewebsitebuilder.com (get it?)
For beginners(and really for advanced users too), I like the ease of Wix.
You can build your website here for free and keep it for free too! And if you choose to upgrade (and lose their brand from your site name!), it’s only less than $10 a month- maybe even less!

ConvertKit
Email provider. STOP. I know you want to skim right past this one because it seems a bit scary. You?re probably thinking. I don’t know HOW to collect emails, what would I even write in an email to someone or that’s just too much for me to take on right now.
But guess what, if you take this chance and start an email list for your business, you are going to see HUGE results in how quickly you grow. I promise. It took me too long to realize this.
As soon as you’ve got your site up and running- add a place to collect emails. You will thank yourself a hundred times over next year.
I love and use Convertkit for my email provider and LOVE them. I want to be honest though, it is intimidating at first setting it all up, especially if you haven’t done it before. But stick with it. They have tons of support to help you. Try them out for one month free here.
Tailwind
Tailwind is an extremely helpful program that helps you with Pinterest. You might know, (and might have even found me through Pinterest) that Pinterest has been very good to me. It is a platform that has helped me grow my business by attracting clients from all over the world. Pinterest is a hidden gem for photographers that most don’t use to their benefit- but you should!
If you?re not on Pinterest yet, or Pinterest really isn’t your thing. ?Hold off on this one for now, but as soon as you’re ready to dive in. Sign up for Tailwind here and get $15 off. This is also one of the best services I’ve used to grow globally.
