Same thing as before, but this time when you slide that gray triangle move it to your right. The entire picture will appear a little bit darker.

Add Heavy Contrast

With the levels adjustment layer pulled up take the black triangle and drag it right. Take the white triangle and drag it to the left. POP! Instant contrast! This can make a dramatic difference on your photo- but be careful as it could make parts of you image too dark or bright.

Selective Darkness

If you are looking just to make certain areas of you photo darker, grab the black triangle under the curve and push it right. Now click on the layer mask and hit control (or command on a MAC) I. This will invert the layer. Grab a soft white brush and “paint on” the layer mask the area of your photo you want to appear darker.

Selective Lightness

Same drill as before, but this time you are going to first move the white taingel to the right. Then invert and paint on areas you want lighter!

Add A Fun Vintage Filter!

This adjustment is a little trickier. Instead of staying in RGB you are going to want to drop the color to blue. (see below or watch the video for more clarification.) And again something a little different- this time instead of moving the triangle under the curve, you’re going to move the triangles in under the gradient. See it there? Move both triangles inward until you get a look you love!
