I have a lot of fun with newborn photos. Maybe that’s because I just adore cuddling with babies. I do have four of my own and I also am a part time child development professor, so my love for babies is pretty apparent. Newborn photography however, can be pretty tricky. Babies always look so peaceful in their newborn photos, but that is not always the case. The camera only needs a a fraction of a second to snap a picture and get that peaceful slumber of a newborn. In reality, a newborn photo session can taken anywhere from 2-3 hours. It is very dependent on the disposition of a baby. Babies need a lot of time in between each picture to get calm and comfortable. They take a lot of breaks to eat and change their diaper. Newborns also require a lot of snuggling with mom in between to feel comforted. Newborn photos are very different than my typical family and child portrait sessions. They require a little bit more planning and a lot more care. Because of that, I only take on very few newborn sessions throughout the year. If you are currently pregnant , I’d love to take your maternity photos! I’d also love to talk with you about availability for you newborn session. Emil me today. Emily@cozyclicks.com
