Phoenix Area Children’s Photographer- Pullback location of the Arizona Wildflowers

Colorful children's photo in Phoneix with AZ wildflowers 85044 85048A few weeks back it was pretty cloudy and overcast in Phoenix, which is rare here in the desert. Usually it’s bright and sunny day after day.  That can be difficult to work with as a natural light photographer.  I knew however, that the forecast called for dreary days several days in a row, so I decided to take advantage of the weather.  Many people probably do not realize, but cloudy days actually make for awesome picture conditions!  Harsh shadows are eliminated and the use of your surroundings for interesting compositions are endless.  So, on this dreary Phoenix day I was out and about with my family at the grocery store when I noticed a large bunch of yellow Arizona wildflowers starting to bloom in the back end of the parking lot.  Typically, this would have been a heavily lit area and tough to photograph.  On this day, however I immediately saw it as a chance to create a cool colorful photo.Pullback photography shot

I had one of my daughters and favorite muses throw on a purple tank top, which I knew would compliment the yellow flowers and back to the grocery store parking lot we went.  The bushes were so dense with yellow flowers and the lighting allowed me to place her in more unusual compositions.  You can see the pullback shot above in comparison to to the final product.  Now this isn’t the first time I’ve found some neat locations in a spot as simple as a parking lot.  Look here to see another interesting pullback I shot in a different parking lot a few months back.

So true about cloudy days, most people think the shoot is ruined because of a few clouds. On the contrary, photographers do a happy dance! These are just gorgeous! I love how you showed a pull back of the area. You don’t need much to take beautiful pictures if you have the artistic eye, which you clearly do. You make Phoenix look like a magical wonderland. Beautiful!ReplyCancel

Gorgeous photos of your little girl! I live in Northeast Ohio, and a dreary overcast day is extremely common here! I agree, it’s the absolute best time to shoot outdoors!ReplyCancel
