This is the time of year when family comes to town and what a better way to remember these times with your extended family than with pictures!

If that sounds like you, shoot me an email here and we can discuss availability, location and pricing for your extended family photoshoot: emily@cozyclicks.com

This extended family session was an absolute delight! Earlier in the year, I was able to capture a smaller family of 4 in this group, and then months later they were all together, but this time for a full group shot!

Location

Not all locations are created equal when it comes to extended family photography. Having a lot of space is a must. It’s also a good idea to choose a spot that isn’t super crowded so that strangers won’t be photo bombing the session. This open desert setting is a great example. Here are some of my favorite areas for family photos.

What Happens at An Extended Family Session

“Can we take photos of smaller families during our session too?” I get this question a lot when booking large group sessions. The simple answer is: yes! While our main focus will be capturing everyone together, we will have time for breakout groupings to capture single families or even relatives that haven’t seen each other in awhile.

We have a group of 30…is that too many?

Letting your photographer know how many people are in your family is important right from the beginning. Extended family photos are not a specialty for every photographer and some may not have the right equipment or background for working with larger groups. Lucky for you, I ADORE working with large families! It is so fun seeing people together and capturing these moments. Take a look at other examples of my extended family photos here or here!

If you are looking to schedule extended family photos this year, send me an email today! Emily@cozyclicks.com Together we can choose a date, time and location that are right for your family.
