This family photo session was perfection for me! Not only did we shoo tin one of my favorite desert locations (see more info below), but this family I have been working with since the birth of their first child….and now look at them with 4! As a mom of four kids too, this family is so fun and relatable for me to work with.
Location
Being in Phoenix, desert backgrounds make for the ideal backdrop for any outdoor family photo session. South Mountain offers many different trailheads (but I’ve got a few of my favorites;) ) This one in particular near Ahwatukee offers beautiful light, lots of variety, mountains ands cactus all wrapped in one.
What To Expect At Your Family Session
In under an hour we work together to capture memories for your family. I aim for a few more traditional poses while also capturing all those fun candid moments along the way. Depending on your preferences I typically shoot a variety of grouping that focus on the full family as well as some breakout shots with he kids, parents, just the girls, just the boys….the list goes on. We keep things fun, easy going and low on the stress.
Preparing For the Desert
A desert shoot can present itself with certain obstacles. Unless you are looking for a specific look at a specific spot, I try to keep the hiking to a minimal, however, dust and dirt will still be present. Certain locations (not this particular one here) will require a little more walking than others. I’ll give you the heads up beforehand if you should bring a different pair of shoes to walk in.
