Phoenix, Arizona Family Photographer- “The Soft Side to Downtown”

I was approached by this family late last summer for family photos and we opted to wait until to hot Phoenix heat was past us to schedule their family session. This was probably a good idea since they had two young children and the summer heat here in Phoenix can be scorching. We choose a beautiful park in the middle of Downtown Phoenix which doesn’t even look like we are in the middle of a downtown area.  The heavy traffic and skyscrapers are hidden by old fashioned buildings, full, lush trees and flowers. The flowers on this evening were just budding with beautiful white blossoms and the children were able to run across the grass in comfortable cool temperatures.  It was the perfect spot for this almost spring season.

I love this location because of the lushness, but also because the different seasons offer different looks here.  Last fall I  shot a family session (click here to see it) here and the white flowers were nowhere in sight.  Instead there were beautiful roses and orange and yellow sprinkled through the leaves of the trees.  It almost looked like a traditional fall afternoon right here in Phoenix.
