The Age

For this family photography session, the center of attention was the super cute one year old that you see throughout the photos.  Well styled, and full of expression, she shows us that one year old portraits don’t always have to be in a studio.  You can get beautiful child portraits in the outdoor landscapes of Arizona!

The Location

If you are searching for a beautiful outdoor desert location with cactus and mountain backgrounds, this may be your spot! Located near Scottsdale, Arizona, the McDowell Mountain Preserve is a great location for family photos.  This spot is gorgeous at both sunset and sunrise.  It is a very bright location so your photos may not be as flattering at other times of the day.  There is minimal hiking involved at this spot, so if you have mobility issues, it may not be the best option.  See more sessions from the McDowell Sonoran Preserve here!

Time of Day

This photography session was shot just before sunset to ensure the best and most flattering light.  This is my favorite time of day to take pictures! Most sessions will take place near this time for that reason, especially if you are wanting a desert setting.  Some sessions do take place earlier in the day depending on the type of session and location.  Please just ask for other available times and options.
