Using Logic Games To Boost Creativity!

Ever feel like you’re stuck in a bit of a creative rut?

❌Maybe your photos aren’t quite turning out the way you’d like

❌Maybe you’re bored with photography

❌…Or maybe you just have no inspiration lately!

This happens to us all, so if this is you right now.  Don’t worry.  Taking a break and giving yourself that time to regroup is vital.

One thing that I really love to do that helps regroup my brain and ignites that creativity is playing logic games.

I know that might sound kinda weird, but it’s something that I’ve done since I was a kid.

Now, if you know me, you know that I am a total 80s child. There was no such thing as smart phones…or really the internet either back in the day when I felt the need to feed my brain. Do you remember those times?

So I did things like:

✅ Crosswords puzzles from the newspaper

✅ Board games (we had a ton of them in our basement)

✅ Or mad libs flip books (weren’t those funny!)

As a forty something year old, I still use logic games as a way to keep my brain sharp, but technology has made it much easier to find.

Recently I was on the site solitaire.org looking to take a brain break from editing and play a couple rounds of solitaire.

What I ended up finding though was more than just that single player card game…it was a jackpot of logic puzzles online!  It made me feel like a kid!

My favorite was the online daily crossword puzzle, which unlike the old school pencil and newspaper crosswords, shows you right away if you got it right. There is no endless erasing going on. There is also a new one daily, and you can go back to older ones if the one for that particular day is too hard.

But that wasn’t all! Who else remembers the classic computer game, Mindsweeper?

Anyone…or am I really just that old and nerdy 🤓?

As I got into high school this was my go to game. I played it alot when taking breaks from homework. I loved the logic behind it…but I also really loved math and numbers.  This game also helped calm me and regroup my mind whenever my creativity was sinking.  Plus I always thought it was a lot of fun too.

I played a few rounds of it the other day on that same site as I was finishing up my work day and have to say it didn’t disappoint decades later!

Logic games help me take a bit of a brain break while still using my brain, so I get that boost of creativity when it is time to get back to editing my photos!

You just have to make sure if you are playing on a site like solitaire.org that you don’t lose track of too much time!

So tell me, what’s your favorite logic game to help boost your creativity?
